Paediatric Balance and Vestibular Clinic (PBVC)

The Cintocare Specialized Vestibular Clinic for Children multidisciplinary team offer each child a thorough evaluation that includes looking at a treatment plan to help improve your child’s quality of life.

What is a balance and vestibular disorder?

The ability to maintain balance is controlled by vision, proprioception (muscles and joints sensing the body’s location) and the vestibular system located within the inner ear. These three systems work together and send signals to the brain to help maintain posture and balance. When the communication between these three systems is interrupted it results in balance and/or vestibular disorders. Dizziness and balance disorders can have a significant impact of your child’s quality of life, development, and psychological well-being.
